What we collect

• Quiz answers: who's traveling, your cruise experience, what you enjoy, your priorities, where you'd like to go and your cruise budget.
• Contact details: your email, and if you give them, your name, phone number and preferred call times.
• Trip details from the follow-up: dates, trip length, departure ports, party size, stateroom plans, and the ages of travelers, including children's ages when a parent or guardian gives them.
• Motion sensitivity: if you choose to tell us about seasickness, so we can steer you toward calmer ships and cabins.
• Your choices on the estimate: the extras you switch on or off and budget changes, so we can show what fits.
• Messages and feedback: what you write to us, consultation notes, and any feedback after your trip.
• Site activity: which steps of the site you reach, the page, and the referral code or campaign tag in the link you arrived from. This is tied to an anonymous ID in a cookie until you give your email.
• Booking details: if you book, the details needed for the reservation (such as legal names and dates of birth), which go to the cruise line.

We don't collect payment card details: payments go to the cruise line. We don't store IP addresses in our own records, though our hosting providers keep standard server logs for security.

How we use it

• to match you with cruises and estimate their cost;
• to send your results and sign-in links, and to reply to you;
• to prepare for and hold your consultation, and to make and manage your booking;
• to send marketing emails, only if you opted in;
• with your separate permission only, to pull travel preferences from emails you send us so we can improve your recommendations;
• to understand which content brings people to the site and to improve our matching, using combined information that doesn't identify you; and
• to meet legal, tax and accounting duties and to keep the site secure.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information or share it for cross-site advertising. We share it only:

• With service providers who run the site for us, only for that purpose: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (an AI service that may help us draft messages and explanations; under its commercial terms it doesn't train its models on this data).
• When you book: with the cruise line and the host travel agency we book through, as needed for your reservation.
• When the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety and security.
• If the business changes hands, with the new owner, who must follow this policy.

Cookies

We use a cookie that holds an anonymous ID, so your quiz answers stay with you, and sign-in cookies once you've signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals don't change anything here, because we don't track you across other sites.

How long we keep it

• If you don't book: until you ask us to delete it, or about 3 years after your last activity, whichever comes first.
• If you book: booking and payment records for 7 years, for tax and legal purposes.
• Anonymous site activity that never connected to an email: up to 2 years.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

• show you the personal information we hold about you;
• correct it;
• delete it (except records we must keep by law, such as booking records); or
• stop marketing emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.

Email [to fill: contact email] from the address you used with us. We'll reply within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for making a request. Some states give their residents extra rights; we'll honor those too.

Children

CruiseMatch is for adults planning trips. We don't knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. Children's ages or names come only from their parent or guardian, for planning and booking. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Your information is stored in the United States with our providers, encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to CruiseMatch and the providers above. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the version date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you by email first.
